The Fox Crate continues to travel the globe in search of some of the dopest record shops around. Now we’re highlighting some of those shops in a little series we’ll call Diggers Ave
Location:
RECORD CITY – 65 Fenimore St. Flatbush, Brooklyn. The shop is located in a cool part of town – off the tourist path – right by Prospect Park
Inventory:
Mostly all used LPs, 12” Singles, 45s and Cassettes
The Vibe:
The shop is super clean, well-lit, and well-organized. It’s small, but has a shit ton of charm and the staff is awesome and welcoming. There’s also a nice listening set-up (a Technics table) right by the window.
dope swag and cassettes nice walls! listening set-up dream come true impressive 45 collection vintage looking bins – easy to dig through crate-digging in action major tunes!
The Fruit:
Reggae and Soul/Funk are the heavy hitters here, but you’ll also find a nice amount of quality Jazz, Hip-Hop, Latin, and Rock/Alternative wax.
The Gold:
This spot is a Roots Reggae/Dancehall digger’s dream – Plenty of bins to dig through, and plenty of choice riddims and versions to be had. Most all the records were in VG+ or NM condition and very reasonably priced. The 45 bins are just as impressive and there were new arrival bins designated for different genres – which is nice.
